I went through what some people call a "life quake." Everything crumbled at once: a divorce, an empty nest, burnout from a career I had poured my whole self into, and all of it unfolding in the middle of COVID. What I craved most in that season wasn't a vacation or a spa day. It was connection. Real, honest, show-up-as-you-are connection with other women, with myself, and most importantly, with God.

One day, leaving Pilates, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" came on the radio. And just like that, I was sixteen again, sitting on a friend's floor at a slumber party, face mask on, laughing without a care in the world. And I thought: why did we stop doing this? Why do grown women stop giving themselves permission to just... be together and have fun?

So I built the space we never give ourselves. The Slumber Party Box became a virtual hangout where women could show up in their PJs, camera on or off, and just be. From there, Faith & Facials was born. Same heart, but with Scripture, devotional moments, and God present in the room. Every month, women gather with me on Zoom for 75 minutes, skincare in hand, Word open, nervous systems settling, and they leave glowing from the inside out.

As I started gathering with women, people would hear my story and ask two things: "How did you heal through all of that pain?" And honestly, "What are you doing for your skin? You look amazing."

Those questions made me stop and really think. And the answer led me to create the Face Yoga Institute.

​

Face yoga is about coming back to yourself. It's the blending of mind, body, and spirit, regulating your nervous system, supporting your lymphatic system, and healing from within. Because when you heal from within, it starts to radiate outward. That glow people notice? It's not a product. It comes from inside your heart.

I built a full curriculum around this, and today I'm 1 of 14 in the world and the only certified face yoga training provider in the United States. I've made it my own, weaving together esthetics, wellness, and faith into something that truly transforms people. I train others to become certified so they can be a lighthouse in their own communities, because I'm only one person, but this message deserves to spread.

At the heart of everything I do is community. Whether we're gathering for Faith & Facials, hanging out in the Slumber Party Box, or certifying the next wave of face yoga teachers, I know I'm not the only one who has lived through the hard seasons. And we don't have to heal alone. We heal together.
